  45. Loosen both the right and left axle nuts, removing them only if the bicycle has fender braces.  Then, slide the wheel downward until the axle clears the slots in the fork. To remount, slide the axle into the slots and replace the fender braces, if any. Tighten both nuts with your fingers. Center the wheel in the fork, then firmly tighten both nuts with a wrench.
